BILL HEEPS
National Excutive member since UNISON's inception and for lots of years before in partner union. Real job is technician in City of Edinburgh Education Department.
Has held many key roles in the union and brings masses of skill and experience to the team - along with a very wide network of contacts. Has met Yasser Arafat and was once made to stand in the sun for a considerable time by Israeli police.
Hobbies include (or have included) accomplished saxophonist (still plays in bands), judo, pot-holing and desperately coming to terms with new technology.

JOE GALLETTA
Chair of the old Edinburgh UNISON branch and previously membership officer and Chair of the merged branch since its inception.
Works in City Development (City of Edinburgh) and has been active as a steward and officer for more years than he will let us disclose.
Renowned for his commitment to the union and to Hibernian Football club, but not always in that order. His jokes are to be avoided.

DOUGIE BLACK
Secretary of the old Edinburgh District Branch and chair of the new branch since its inception. Chairs UNISON's Scottish Local Government Committee and is on the National Service Group Executive. As well as all his union commitments, Dougie was once chair of the Downes Syndrome Association.
Dougie works in Edinburgh Council's Strategic Policy Department - soon to be merged.
Married with two children, Dougie's hobbies include watching Hibs, but he's not downhearted.
Likes: Beer Dislikes: Greenhouses.
MORAG STEVENSON
Been all over the place really. Previously chair, secretary, service conditions officer etc of Edinburgh University branch; affiliations officer and communications officer of the ex Edinburgh District Branch and of the new City of Edinburgh Branch.
Has been chair of the Scottish Communications Committee and was a member of the Constitutional Convention.
An admin officer in the council's Corporate Services Department, Morag is married with two young children.
Hobbies include making clothes every few years, playing computer games, gymnastics (well, used to) and gin and tonic.
Likes: Classical Music. Dislikes: Programming VCRs.
MIKE McCROSSAN
The man who counts. Mike is even tighter with the branch's money than his own. He was treasurer of the ex Edinburgh District Branch and works in the council's housing department.
His hobbies include finding mistakes in your expenses form and telling us how skint the branch is unless it is something he wants us to do.
Likes: Being on the Internet. Dislikes: The blooming program that gets him on to the Internet (sometimes).
