| Congratulations to Edinburgh UNISON's
Gail Park and Charlie McInally who were married in a private ceremony in
Edinburgh on 7 October.
Gail, a librarian and branch assistant
secretary and Charlie, a grounds maintenance worker and branch service conditions
officer, met through the union and love blossomed.
All the ususal jokes have been going around,
what with Gail's name being Park and Charlie working in grounds maintenance.
But we're told one of the witnesses topped it all by substituting two UNISON
badges for the rings at the last minute.
Everyone now wonders if this heralds a
new era of unity for UNISON. UNISON was born five years ago with the marriage
of NALGO, NUPE and COHSE. Gail was in NALGO and Charlie in NUPE. Could this
be the start of full integration? |
