Edinburgh TUC (ETUC) members joined environmental, refugee, faith and other campaign groups at the Edinburgh Climate Festival, Leith Links, Saturday 3 September 2022. The event was well attended with many stalls that included arts and crafts for young people, games, bike riding/maintenance and environmental and energy-saving advice. There was even a puppet show for the really young, many of whom had UNISON flags and whistles.
The main stage seen speakers from environmental, refugee and campaign groups with Cllr. Cammy Day and Foysol Choudhury MSP also addressing the event. Retrofitting was one of the subjects raised and both UNISON and the ETUC have had meetings with council officials and elected members on the council’s Retrofitting Strategy. The entertainment didn’t stop there with singing and dancing groups in attendance. It was a really enjoyable event, said Ian Mullen, Branch Education Officer, ETUC Executive member.
