Happy Pride Month
Soon UNISON members will gather from all over the Lothians, the east coast and from even further afar to join in Pride Edinburgh 2025, arguably one of the best LGBTQ+ marches and events in Scotland.
UNISON Edinburgh, UNISON Lothian NHS, UNISON Scottish Ambulance Service & UNISON SEPA have been in discussion in an attempt to put together our LBGT+ members and have a MARCH in UNISON. Hopefully with a combined UNISON approach will have a visible presence on the March. A considerable amount of work behind the scenes has gone into organising this, so, hopefully it pays off. It is now over you, our members to make it all happen.
Please join us in a MARCH OF UNISON & SOLIDARITY next Saturday 21st June.
- Meet for coffee and croissant – 10 :00 AM at ORIGIN COFFEE – where you can get your lippy on and collect a UNISON rainbow flag
- Meet for the Equality Network Stage for pre rally speeches 11:00 – 12:45 – I’ve accepted an invitation to speak at this event. As a terrified first-time public speaker, I will need you out there, showing some support.
- Meet for the march – outside Parliament main doors 12:30 PM – look out for UNISON flags and banners
- March sets of from Holyrood at 1pm to Bristo Square
- Pride Main Stage, Bristo Square 2 – 6 PM
- Pride Community Fair, McEwan Hall 2 – 6PM
- The Near-by Captain’s Bar will be having a more sedate Pride Party with a special Pride music programme till late
If you would like to take part in Pride but are unable due to access or disability reasons, LGBT Health & Wellbeing a have a series of supportive events during Pride and throughout the year. UNISON Edinburgh’s Disabled Members Officer can be contact via the Branch.
