UNISON City of Edinburgh branch members and regional staff supporting the @The_TUC, @Care4Calais and @AntiRacismDay, #StopRwanda Twitterstorm campaign, challenging the government’s policy for offshore detention in Rwanda. The campaign is backed nationally by eleven trade unions including UNISON. Other backers include a range of refugee rights organisations, charities, faith groups, politicians, and cultural figures. Ian Mullen, branch Health & Safety Officer said, ‘the Tories policy on flying refugees to Rwanda is morally and ethically wrong, especially when you look at Rwanda’s Human Rights agenda.
