The Climate Crisis is an issue that has and will continue to affect everyone in the years to come. This year we have seen the UK record the hottest summer in decades with drought warnings issued in certain parts of the country. Other countries have suffered devastating floors and wildfires. We simply cannot depend on the politicians setting the right agenda for a positive future with Glasgow’s COP26 being a complete failure.
In UNISON we have an active and progressive role through our Green UNISON Network, in and out of the workplace. In the run up to COP27 in Egypt, I want to encourage all our UNISON members and activists to join Edinburgh’s “This Crisis Demands Action” March on Saturday 12 November 2022. Let’s make our branch banner and flags seen on this day of action.
