We have all seen the unacceptable behaviour of the far-right fascists in parts of the UK and Northern Ireland in recent weeks. This has not been replicated in Scotland, but we cannot be complacent as incidents in Erskine and Bathgate have shown.
At last week’s Branch Committee, we unanimously condemned the violence and destruction that took place. On 8 August 2024, we wrote to the employer and the elected members highlighting the need to re-access health and safety arrangements, including the reporting and recording of racial verbal and physical abuse.
