UNISON members, Edinburgh TUC, and campaign groups braved the extreme cold and snow to demonstrate against further budget cuts outside the City Chambers on 24 February 2022.
Gerry Stovin, UNISON Assistant Branch Secretary, made a deputation to the Full Council meeting, while Ian Mullen, Health and Safety Officer, Duncan Smith and Aileen Park made speeches to fellow demonstrators outside. With an election in May the cuts were not as bad as first thought. However, it is anticipated that 2023/25 will be difficult.
