Edinburgh’s May Day rally was held on Saturday 6 May 2023. It was a fantastic day with hundreds of trade union, campaign group members and two pipe bands in attendance, the largest turn-out for many years.
This was matched by thousands of Edinburgh residents and tourist that lined Edinburgh’s High Street as we marched down the High Street, Cockburn Street, Jeffery Street to the rally point at the Pleasance, were we heard speeches from Roz Foyer, (STUC), Lena Wanggren, (UCU), Steve West, (PCS), Brian Reynolds, (RMT) and Derek Durkin, (Trade Unions in Communities), with music provided by Callum Baird and Penny Stone.
It was a long day for many as the evening entertainment continued at the Leith Dockers Club, rounding off a fantastic event.
