It was an early, wet, and cold start for branch activists as we joined our EIS comrades on their picket lines on the 11-12 January. Demonstrations were also held outside the CoSLA office and the First Ministers residence at Bute House over both days.
Further industrial action will take place if the employers do not make an improved pay offer. Two other teaching unions are set to join the EIS in taking separate action. Ian Mullen branch education officer said “the employers and Scottish Government are reluctant to resolve this dispute, although I understand that further discussion will
take place. UNISON will continue to support our teaching and all striking workers in their struggle to secure better pay, conditions, and secure employment going into 2023.”
