Following the successful official opening of the Trade Unions in Communities (TUIC) HUB in Craigmillar on the 3 December 2022, we held our first open community event with the launch of Ian Allinson’s book ‘Workers Can Win, A Guide to Organising at Work’ on the 11 December 2022.
The well attended event saw Ian make a presentation on his book, talking about the ongoing industrial unrest that has saw regular strike action throughout 2022. This was the latest presentation since taking the book launch on the road. A question-and-answer session followed and there are plans for future book reading sessions.
Ian Mullen, TUIC, Trade Union Liaison Officer said, having read the book I would highly recommend it to new and experienced trade union representatives and those members that are politically motivated.
